A carbon object absorbs more light than almost anything else placed near it. That changes how a room is read.
Placed on a pale surface, a matte laminate form reads as an absence rather than a mass. It anchors a composition the way a doorway does — by defining what surrounds it. This is why we finish most interior pieces matte and reserve gloss for details that should catch a moving eye.
Scale matters more than colour here. A four-hundred-millimetre column in a small room becomes furniture; the same column in a gallery-height space becomes punctuation. We publish dimensions prominently for that reason.
